Apex Wireless Inc. was founded in 1989 by Andrew Westlund, who saw a tremendous potential in cellular phones as a TELUS dealer.  Today, APEX operates their National Headquarters out of their Surrey, BC location and run 10 Lower Mainland offices from North Vancouver to Chilliwack.  APEX provides products and services to thousands of business accounts right across the country.

Apex's Mission: APEX's number one objective is to offer products and services that will help businesses truly manage their TOTAL WIRELESS SPEND:

• APEX e-Portal for Business: A value added web portal that will assist any company with control and system side of wireless hardware purchases.
  
  
• APEX Cellular Airtime Analysis Software: A software powered by CanAsyst - that will monitor and report anything to do with your TELUS bills in a simple format that will eliminate hours of internal self-management of wireless.
  
  
• APEX Account Management: Dedicated reps from APEX are all highly trained to consult, supply and support a company's wireless hardware requirements which may range from Blackberry's to Modems to Cellular Phones to GPS Fleet Management.

Andrew Westlund, President

Andrew Westlund's greatest aspiration is to make a meaningful, positive impact on the lives of everyone who works at Apex. He encourages and inspires all staff to dream big, and set plans in motion to live the fullest life they can. He is tremendously thankful to have employees who motivate and inspire him in kind.

Andrew understands that it takes work to have fun. When not at the office or spending time with his wife and four children, Andrew plans 'adventures with purpose'. In recent years he has worked with orphans in Uganda and helped raise funds for water wells in Honduras, a place he'll visit early next year. To date Andrew has visited 29 countries, and enjoys combining his other interests of aviation, motorcross and long distance cycling while on these adventures. Such diverse interests are widely seen and encouraged throughout Apex, and the inspiration to follow them is truly demonstrated from the top down.

Dan Perrett, VP Sales

Dan Perrett is Apex's Vice President of Sales. When he's not managing the sales force, overseeing operations and implementing new strategies for Apex, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. If it's not dirt biking or mountain biking with his boys, he's coaching his sons and daughter in baseball or soccer. Also avid hikers and skiers, Dan and family spend many weekends and evenings on the North Shore mountains.

Dan is one of the original members of Apex, having joined the company in 1989, when this whole great adventure started. His career has grown along with Apex. He started out selling cellular phones with Andrew and has since been actively involved in the addition of divisions such as Home Security.

Edmund Lim, B.Comm., C.A., VP Finance

Edmund Lim is Apex's VP of Finance. While Edmund loves a balanced set of books just as much as the next financial expert, he is far from being the stereotypical accountant. Edmund gets very excited when you ask him about Apex because to him Apex is more than a company to work for, it represents a way of life. With Apex since 1994, he has seen much growth in the company and industry at large. Overseeing the Financial and Administrative aspects of Apex, Edmund enjoys the challenges presented with such wide-ranging responsibilities.

Married since 2001, when not at the office, Edmund and his wife enjoy being outdoors where they work on their yard and gardens. Recently, they have joined a softball league and have rediscovered their love of tennis.

James Vallance, Business Development Manager

James has been a part of APEX and TELUS since 1996 and has a lengthy background in Business Account Management working with several of APEX's key accounts. James holds a college diploma in Business Management and his # 1 responsibility is to oversee the APEX e-portal for Business solution. Another key role in this position is to provide all the systems and resources necessary for an APEX Manager's and Reps to be successful in today's market place.

James grew up playing all sorts of competitive individual and team sports, which includes completing the Penticton Ironman Triathlon in 2005. James was married in 2001, has a 2.5 year old son and recently welcomed triplets to his family. These days, James keeps busy raising his suddenly large family.

Doug McLean, Operations Manager

Doug has been with Apex since 1993, and has worked in sales, store management, administration and today manages Operations from Head Office. He enjoys being constantly challenged to grow and do better than the day before. Apex isn't just teaching him about business, but about life.

Doug was born in BC and has lived all across Canada, from Halifax to Vancouver, but his most formative years were spent in Alberta. He has been married for twelve years and is a proud father to three boys. Raising kids successfully is a challenge that Doug relishes; every day gives him the opportunity to practice what he thinks he knows and the payback is immeasurable. Doug spends his free time playing poker, golf, and honouring his Albertan heritage by following the Edmonton Oilers.

John Wang, Chief Information Officer

With 25 years of technical and IT management experience, John had held a wide variety of IT job roles as Business Analyst, Network Specialist, Database Administrator, System Manager, IT Manager and BI Consultant before joined Apex in 2001 to head our IT department.

John received a MBA degree from Simon Fraser University. He also holds a Master Degree of Industrial Management Engineering from Shanghai Jisotong University and a Bachelor Degree of Science from Tsinghua University in China.

John is responsible for all aspects of the organization's information technology and systems and was recently appointed CIO for APEX to direct the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations and development.

Being an IT technical Professional he has a certification of MCSE, MCDBA and CCNA from Microsoft and Cisco.

Outside of work, John enjoys playing sports like basketball and Ping Pong as well as watching NBA games
